Hello again! It has been way too long but as you can see, I have a good reason for my disappearing act! 🙂
Beginning of 2018 saw me all giddy with plans to take my blog to the next level and maybe break into the youtube world so was working hard to achieve my goals of a rebrand/relaunch in Spring, when amongst the snow falls we’ve had here in Yorkshire around February/March, while off work to complete another little goal for 2018 of redecorating my lounge, driven outside by the often occurring and undeniable need for some macaroons, no more than 10 steps from my house I have slipped on ice and my life has changed forever.
This might sound a bit dramatic, especially since initially the surgeon said he expects me to make a full recovery 6 months to a year, but breaking my ankle in 3 places as well as dislocating it, has left my life in shambles.
I won’t go into too much detail here, will try and do a post or a video detailing my experience so far for those interested in such a journey, but in short it has been exactly 7 months today since I have broken my ankle and only today I have managed to leave my house without any aid, walking or rather waddling along with pain finally going down to maybe a 4 out of 10. While I still have a long road ahead of me to full recovery, have been off work for about 3 months out of which 2 were spent on bed arrest, have managed to put on an impressive 12 pounds as have heavily relied on comfort food throughout it all, as well as potentially suffering of a mild case of midlife crisis, I believe I have managed to gain some perspective on my life and today I choose to believe I will reach that end goal of walking and wearing my amazing collection of shoes again someday!
What’s the meaning of life?! Well, I have no idea, I have broken my ankle not had an epiphany, however I think concentrating on the present each day might be a move in the right direction.
So, here I am, back in my little corner of the internet again, where I have decided I will share things that make me happy in the hopes that while helping myself find meaning, I might help someone else do the same.
Not sure how it will all go, what I do know though is that we take too much for granted and as all slips away from us, whether it is at life’s swift pace or at a harsh and unexpected blink of an eye, we, or I as it happens, need to make sure I am present!
I shall start slow, backtracking to things/outfits/posts left for the dust to settle back at the end of February and join real time soon, just as the leaves are falling, Autumn is putting on a show and Christmas is starting to get everyone giddy!
With that being said, with much excitement and anticipation, I now look forward to a new adventure, hopefully with you by my side! 🙂
