There are loads of DIY’s you can all do with a box frame (will feature more of them on here in the near future:)), but just really felt the need to add a bit more of an Autumn feel to my living room, so with a bit of Pinterest inspiration, this little frame came to life! 🙂
So, for this little project I picked up a 30cm/30cm box frame from Hobbycraft, at the unbeatable sale cost of £5.00 (!!!!), primed it with the grey Rustoleum primer, spray painted it in Rustoleum bright gold and sealed it with the Rustoleum matt crystal clear sealer.
I had picked up a coloured sheet of paper from Hobbycraft for the background, but that didn’t work out as the glue, even though it dried clear, it stained the paper! 🙁
So have turned the Hobbycraft paper onto the other side and glued the Country Baskets gold speckled print mesh onto it, for a lovely gold background, then glued the Autumn leaves I got from Amazon (now sold out but you can find different shapes and sizes on Ebay) in the middle of the paper.
I then wrote ‘hello fall’ (I would’ve liked to say Autumn, but that’s a really long word :)) on the glass of the frame with a sharpie, and filled out the words with Rustoleum Gold Metallic furniture paint, 2 coats.
Once the paint dried, have wiped off all the finger prints from the glass, assembled the frame and staged it as a centrepiece on my fireplace! 🙂
Hope you enjoyed this DIY and are inspired to create your own little project with a box frame, and if you do, please don’t forget to tag me, as I would love to see what you have created! 🙂
Until we meet again,
